Congratulations to our County Boss for being sworn in as the incoming Council of Governors Chairman, Embu Governor Martin Wambora said that he will practice servant leadership.
“My leadership will be characterized by consultation, collaboration and cooperation,” said Governor Wambora.
Wambora then proceeded to deliver an excellent address, which will be availed in detail in the publication of his official maiden speech later.
Taking this victory as an indication of greater things to come, people across the political divide have a reason to look at the soft-spoken leader in a different light.
One thing that was agreed upon by all national and international dignitaries who had graced the event is that the biggest role of the CoG Secretariat is the furtherance of devolution.
While handing over the instruments of power to the incoming Chairman, the outgoing chairperson and Kakamega governor H.E Wycliffe Oparanya pledged commitment to constructive team work towards the work of the Council, for the good of devolution.
Governor Oparanya expressed his confidence in the competence of the incoming team under the leadership of Governor Wambora.
“I am sure I’ve left the Council in the right hands,” said Oparanya.
The Chief Guest and the official unveiller of the new Council of Governors leadership was the Cabinet Secretary for Devolution Hon. Eugene Wamalwa. In his remarks, he said that it is time to strengthen Devolution.
Among international dignitaries present was UNDP Kenya Resident Representative Walid Badawi, European Union Ambassador Simon Mordue and the Deputy Ambassador of Denmark Henrik Larsen.
