A team from Embu County Government led by H.E Governor Martin Wambora was yesterday hosted by the Kenya Film Commission team in Nairobi. The team culminated in the signing of an MOU between the two parties forging a strategic partnership to promote and develop the film industry in Embu County. H.E Governor Wambora expressed his joy that a film titled 'Medicine Man' - a beneficiary of the Commission's Film Empowerment Programme, is being shot in Embu County. H.E committed to supporting the film industry in Embu County acknowledging that the creative industry is a key development pillar for the county. The Commission has embarked on developing a film hub in Embu County in order to satisfy the film production needs at the grassroots level with the main objective being to encourage growth and nurture creativity among the aspiring filmmakers and students. The Film Hub will host Film Residency Program that will focus on training aspiring filmmakers in month-long workshops facilitated by industry professionals.
